This is Good Coffee

Amber has noticed that Scarlett is less fussy when she avoids dairy, so she has cut 90% of it out of her diet. She still eats a little now and again when it's cooked in things, but never raw such as liquid milk, until accidentally Tuesday.

Scarlett has been sleeping through the night lately, meaning she goes down between 7-8 and wakes up between 5-7 a.m. If I'm still at the house when Amber gets up with her, I'll prepare her some coffee before I leave. On Tuesday I made coffee for Amber: a little agave, a little soy milk, add coffee, stir and serve. On my way out the door she commented, "you made it good this morning." I was pleased but didn't think anything of it.

Amber calls me later saying, "you won't believe what happened. You made my coffee with milk this morning. No wonder it was so good!" It was early, like before 5 a.m. when I made it, so I just grabbed a container, not realizing it was real milk, and served a damn good cup of coffee. We both laughed a lot. I was mostly amused at my own sleepiness and how I just reached in the fridge and poured the first thing I grabbed.

Sure enough, Scarlett was super fussy that day. At least Amber liked the coffee.
