Wows.

Two epiphanies in as many days.

1. Amber and will be responsible for buying Christmas presents for Scarlett. Now and forever.

2. We also have to go around on Halloween with the little girl.

Mega wow.

It's not that I mind doing these things, nor am I concerned about money or time. It's just I'm doing all the grown up things I never quite understood that parents (and parents all over the world) do for their kids. Rite of passage for parenthood? Maybe. I'm sure I had the same "little babys all grows up" feeling when I paid rent for the first time or put gas in my first car. It was an exciting feeling feeling then, and it is now too.

5 Weeks

As the calendar goes, today Scarlett is five weeks old.

We've been doing as much as we can with her. Last weekend the three of us spent the entire day (a whole six hours!) out, and during that time we changed her diaper, gave her a bottle, and breast fed her, all out in public. I was so impressed with us I practically high-fived myself.

We also discovered that she goes comatose when we run the vacuum. I'm serious, it's like watching one of those TV shows where people get hypnotized, and when the hypnotist says "I'd like to buy a pigeon", the programmed person just drops on the floor asleep, drooling on themselves. Instead of burnout our vacuum, I've got my iPod in her nursery with some speakers and white noise mp3s. Sleeps like a rock, and gives mommy a break.

Here is a new album with a few pics.

Strolling

I've been working a lot lately, so I took Friday off work to hang out around house with the fam. It was such a great day, even if I did do chores for most of it.

Last night we took our first group trip out in to the world. We went to dinner (5 Guys Burgers and Fries), Lowes, Target, Kroger. It was so much fun! I'm serious. I loved putting Scarlett in the stroller and hitting the bricks. Mom and the baby did great. As long as we were moving, Scarlett was quiet as a mouse. If we dallied for too long, she would let us know.

Enough about me, here is a Scarlett update. She is 2 weeks old today and is sleeping for about 2-3 hours at a time, sometimes longer. Feeding is going well, and she even had her first breast milk from a bottle yesterday. That really opens up possibilities for mom and baby both. Now she can leave the house for a few hours and I can still feed her.

Check this pic out. This is a sling that arrived yesterday.

So far, so good.
